How far do you agree that the two videos you have studied are conventional for the genre?
Little Mix's video "black magic" is conventional to the genre of pop. The video uses mise-en-scene to reflect the genre, for example in the beginning of the video the band are wearing clothes that are stereotypical to the representation of geeks, they wear dull clothes that do not stand out. However once they become 'popular' their clothes become bright and colourful highlighting the fact that they are the most important part of the video and reflecting the conventions of pop.
Additionally, within The Vamps' music video 'Somebody To You' bright lighting reflects the atmosphere, which is conventional to Pop music. An example of this is the setting, the band are seen dancing on a bright beach, the bright beach implies the feeling of happiness and enjoyment adding these emotions to the atmosphere of the video

A good list of conventions.
